Global Nexus is an Internet Services and Network Communications service provider located in the Houston area.
This Internet site has been up since mid-1997 as globalnexus.net. Additional shortened domains were later added to
point to this site: gnexus.net. and gnexus.org.
Prior to the registration of this Internet site The Global Nexus had
been a free public Dial-Up BBS system located in the Houston Galveston
Bay Area since 1995. What started as a single line BBS soon became a
very popular local Houston BBS offering a huge collection of Freeware and Shareware
programs, games, pictures, sounds and music and Warez. Soon thereafter
people from all over the USA and other parts of the Globe were using
the BBS to chat with other users and download files from the huge
collection of the latest games and other software. In addition to the
huge number of files the BBS also offered free NNTP newsgroup access and Email messaging for its users.
The Web front end IS NOT what makes this site, you must log in!
Currently we offer any Internet user FREE outgoing and incoming E-mail with personalized accounts. In addition, we offer our dial up users Free Web browsing via Firefox, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator or any other browser. We also have complete and free Telnet access, Public FTP, Registered User FTP and full, Free, NNTP newsgroup access (Selected conferences will be made available to all users. The news server, however, will only be made available for newsreader access to users on our network, and it will not be a public news server...).Internet users should feel free to make use of our Free e-mail accounts. They should also take the time to enjoy our VERY large collection of Freeware and Shareware programs, games, pictures, sounds videos and music. Our files area is growing daily and as of 2008 contained over 4 TB! of available files for download! In the near future we plan to further grow this capacity. The current system has 5 DVD-ROM DL disks online, with the capacity for much, much more! We will also be adding Blu-Ray drives for additional near line storage.You may also freely chat between any other nodes on this system! Dial-up users may chat with Internet nodes or other dial-up nodes and Internet users may do the same! We will also offer online games and much, much more!
