Global Nexus Navigation Tips
Global Nexus combines the graphical interface of the World Wide Web with the power and advanced
Internet commands which previously were available only in standalone apps., UNIX shells, and some
large text-based BBS's.
The result is an extensive but uncomplicated Internet site that provides you with powerful features!
This Online Service is more than just a Web site!
Across the left sidebar of the main system page are the Global Nexus client links. These
links perform the same function as the icons which are located at the top of the Global
Nexus Navigator Connection Manager if you are using it when connecting to our system. The clients
allow you to perform very specific activity while connected to the system:
- Online Help Users may click here to go to this help page. This page outlines the
basic and advanced features of this system and also assists you with questions regarding
the Internet in general. If you have information which you believe would be a helpful
addition to this page, please let us know and we will include it here.
- User Login Internet users may click here to log into this site and access the
advanced features outlined below. We do not require you to pay for this access. We only
ask that you answer a new user questionaire truthfully. The information you give us such
as your name, address, ect. will NOT be supplied to any third parties and is only
requested to keep track of your settings and to prevent abuse of our system. Generalized
information for all users may be used for marketing purposes by us and/or affiliated third
parties. Alias names are allowed, however, your real name must be given to access the
system. Internet users will be required to give their correct e-mail address.
- E-mail and Newsgroup Client Global Nexus message conferences are similar to
forums found on the larger online services like CompuServe. Each conference can have its
own message base, files, bulletins, questionnaires, display screens and menus. Usenet
non-binary newsgroups are available here for registered users. Subscription users have
access to ALL Usenet groups, including binaries.
- File Archives Client You can recieve text documents, graphics images, sound
files, games and other programs through our file archives client. Searching and retrieving
are as easy as pointing and clicking on an icon. 25,000+ additional CURRENT shareware files
are available here for registered users. Subscription users have access to ALL file groups,
including AVIs, hi-res JPGs, MPEG1/2s, MOVs, and MP3/MP4s.
- Online Chat Client Global Nexus real-time teleconferences provide an exciting way
for you to interact one-on-one or in groups. Moderated chats give you an organized forum
for group discussions or question and answer sessions.
- Who's Online Client The Who's Online Client gives you a listing of all
individuals connected in real-time, and also lets you invite others to Chat or send them
an Instant Message. Just right-click on a name for access to these features.
- Personal Properties Client An individual presentation of your personal
information as stored on this system. The Personal Properties Client lets you view your
statistics and set some options such as whether you are available for Chat and Instant
Messages. This information is for your benefit only and will not be shared with any third
parties whatsoever.
- World Wide Web Interface The key to the ease of navigation is our use of
hypertext markup language (HTML). This is the same language used to create millions of
pages on the World Wide Web. By using any Web Browser which supports Dynamic HTML
(DHTML), you will be able to navigate this system and the World Wide Web.
